The Bourgogne: A Classic French Stone Fireplace
About the Item
The Bourgogne fireplace evokes the classic French Provincial style. It starts deep at almost 13" at the top shelf piece. It comes down into a broad arched opening, and then into the legs which curve sharply in as they continue down to the square plinths. The shelf is a simple thin piece with bullnose edging. The opening has a generous section of rounded molding, along with added steps into the opening. In the French countryside, this fireplace would be found in any one of the many gorgeous French limestones, but can be done from marble as well. This design would be perfect for a Library, Living Room, Great Room, or a large Primary Bedroom. Custom sizes are available.
