About the Item
A fine quality late Georgian carved pine fireplace. The frieze with delicate carving of acanthus leaf central motif leading to flowing scrolled foliage and paterae. The jambs with tied ribbons and bellflower drops, carved leg moulding with beading, flutes and oak leaves with crossbanded ribbons. The shelf also finely carved with acanthus leaf, dentil and egg and dart detailing, circa 1770.
