About the Item
A large and stylish antique black marble fireplace surround
This unusual but well-proportioned, drawn and stylish black marble fireplace was made during the 1860’s in Belgian black marble.
It has a deep moulded shelf, fluted panelled pilasters and frieze. A convex moulding with crossed ribbons and leaf-work corners frame the opening.
