About the Item

A large framed black Basalt stone bolection fireplace surround, with wide bolection moulding profile. Stood on shaped foot blockings. Almost jet black in colour with small inclusions as Basalt is a Volcanic rock. Incredibly hard and durable material, Basalt is an aphanitic extrusive igneous rock formed from the rapid cooling of low-viscosity lava rich in magnesium and iron exposed at or very near the surface.
