LATE 18th CENTURY PAIR OF NEOCLASSICAL GILDED BRONZE ANDIRONS
About the Item
Pair of neoclassical andirons of rare beauty, in lost wax cast bronze, finely chiselled and gilded. Dating back to the end of the 18th century (ca. 1790), they were made with extreme skill by skilled Italian craftsmen. The influence of the Neoclassical taste is evident, with references that recall the ancient classical style. For example, the pine cones are a clear reference to ancient Roman symbolism, while the flowers woven into garlands give them a touch of romance. The attention to detail in these works of art is exceptional, the decorations have in fact been carefully chiselled. These andirons, thanks to their elegance and refinement, are perfect for enriching the decoration of a fireplace or any other environment where you want to create an atmosphere of timeless style and beauty.
