A Neoclassical English Statuary and Siena Marble Mantel Piece

About the Item

A 19th century English statuary and Sienna marble fireplace in the neoclassical style. The finely carved jambs with Athenian foliage and urns surmounted by carved end blockings. The frieze with carved centre blocking featuring female figures and putti. The moulded shelf with carved dentils below. Measure: Shelf width - 1670 mm / 65 3/4 in. Overall height - 1380 mm / 54 3/8 in. Opening height - 970 mm / 38 1/4 in. Opening width - 895 mm / 35 1/4 in. Depth of shelf - 220 mm / 8 5/8 in.
