About the Item

A very fine statuary white marble fireplace in the Italian Renaissance manner. The carved jambs featuring classical amphorae surmounted by fruit, acorns, ribbons and foliage topped with finely carved scrolled brackets. The carved frieze with putti throughout surmounted by shelf with dentils and egg-and-dart moulding. A very fine piece, originally from Florence, Italy, 19th century.
