A Regency style white marble fireplace. The tapered, reeded jambs surmounted by finely carved swirling finials. The frieze with convex reeding throughout. Plain shelf above. A very nice trick stepped and profiled topshelf sits above a slightly curved frieze with a finely carved central foliate paterae flanked by the split paneled frieze. The paterae endblocks are of the same acanthus form, and are supported by curved, angled and fluted jambs, which rest on rounded plain footblocks.
