Antique Tile Splashback by W. Godwin of Lugwardine
Located in Wormelow, Herefordshire
A 36-piece set of 6-inch tiles by W. Godwin of Lugwardine in Herefordshire UK, perfect for use as an antique tile splashback, porch floor or fireplace hearth. Dating from the 19th century, these antique tiles together form an eye-catching geometric pattern consisting of black, blue and red colours that bring life and interest to even the smallest of spaces. These reclaimed tiles are over 150 years old. As such, each has a characterful, timeworn look with scuffs and marks here and there that only enhances the beauty of these striking patterned tiles. While we have arranged these antique tiles as pictured, they are not fixed and can be re-arranged in a desired pattern or shape to suit your interior project.
William Godwin began manufacturing quarry tiles, bricks and drainpipes at his factory in Lugwardine, Herefordshire in 1851. In later years, William went into partnership with his son and traded as ‘Godwin & Co’, a name that would become reputable until long after William’s death in 1925.

Antique French Oak Versailles Panels
Traditionally hand-made and assembled “Parquet de Versailles” panels made from very old antique French oak floorboards (18th C), re-milled. These Versailles panels are hand-made fully jointed with mortices, tenons and pegs, in solid antique French oak. They are assembled in the traditional French way, NOT glued to plywood as “faux” flooring. The option to supply the separation strips used in the floors of French Monuments Historiques is available – consult us.
Metric dimensions approx: panel measures 100 x 100cm (1 sq metre per panel) x 20mm thick.
Imperial dimensions approx: panels 39.37 x 39.37 inches (10.76 sq ft per panel) x 0.8 inch approx.
Bespoke formats are possible for specific room sizes, and other pieces such as skirting boards, stair treads, floor boards for borders and doorway thresholds etc – contact us.
