This is an ornate antique decorative planter. An English, ceramic jardiniere or bowl, dating to the Edwardian period, circa 1910.
Elaborate painted detail draws the eye
Displaying a desirable aged patina - characterful crazing beneath the glaze
Ceramic in good order and free of marks or loss
Dark blue painted rim gives way to a deep brown body
Gold embellishments applied to the body provide warm highlights
Sinuous scrolled handles with foliate motif and beaded detail
Large classical scenes adorn the front and rear fascia - light-hearted and highly detailed
