Antique Handmade Verdigris Copper Planter with Iron Lion's Paw Feet

About the Item

An elegant artisan-made example of an early 20th century copper garden planter with a hand rolled top edge and beautiful, time-worn verdigris patina. I love this piece in a window or in an entryway under a remarkable piece of art. Planters like this one are often found in England and in France. The cast iron lion's paw feet bear a richly rusted patina are separate and allow for positioning on the long or short sides of the planter. The planter has drainage holes and is suitable for outdoor use or for interiors with the use of plastic liners. The seams of the copper sides are strong. Shown in a conservatory interior designed by art advisory & interiors firm Art/artefact featuring artwork from Lars Ly: The Beyond Landscape.
