Robert Maxwell Incised Studio Pottery Planter with Flared Lip
About the Item
Hand thrown studio pottery planter by California ceramics artist Robert Maxwell, c.1970s. This example has a tulip shape that flares at the lip. It is decorated with Maxwell's signature incised designs, of sunbursts and thumbprints. The interior is glazed in a speckled white and exterior of the planter is unglazed.
Signed by artist on the underside.
Dimensions
15" diameter x 12" height.
Condition
Excellent vintage condition; professionally cleaned. One drainage hole. In accordance with age and use, some hard water buildup can be observed.
