A mid 19th century religious stained glass window of German origin depicting the Flight into Egypt. In this biblical story, Mary and Joseph seek refuge in Egypt, fleeing from King Herod who seeks to harm the infant Jesus. This story is frequently re-told in the form of art. Set into a deep wooden box frame what would’ve originally been backlit, this stained glass panel is small but exceptionally detailed, showcasing the talent and intricacy of its creator.
