Mid-19th Century Italian Tuscan Warmer Basket

About the Item

From Tuscany a ceramic basket realized with a circular vase with polychrome geometric decorations on the body and a relief decoration handmade by applied flowers and scrolls as well as on the handle. A Mid-19th Century Italian ceramic warmer, a circular basket from the Val di Chiana in Tuscany, brown background decorated with floral motifs. Small leaves and spiral applications in Siena yellow and green terracotta. There are some small minimal losses in some leaves. Originally this Tuscan artwork was filled with hot embers, topped with ash and it was used for heating as warmer. It dates back to 1850s circa. In good age related condition, with signs of use, minor losses, chips in the leaves. Handmade and hand painted in Italy, Tuscan origin, mid-20th century. A perfect Italian artwork very decorative for a country interior. This artwork is shipped from Italy. Under existing legislation, any artwork in Italy created over 70 years ago requires a governative license for export called Belle Arti. The shipping may require additional 2-3 handling weeks to require and get the license according to the final destination of the artwork.

    19th century Italian Confraternity Voting Urn of Tuscan origin realized with turned and carved poplar wood.
