Art Deco Pewter and Bronze Bowl with Intimate Mother and Child Motif, 1940s

About the Item

Large Art Deco patinated pewter bowl with a center intimate motif of a mother bathing her child. It is designed by danish N. Dam Ravn and manufactured by Nordisk Malm in Denmark during the 1930s or 40s. The same period Just Andersen took the world by storm with his exquisite bronze pieces. The bowl is signed by the designer to center motif. Please notice the inscription (photo 6). This dish was given as a honorary award by a danish bank in 1947. It measures 29 cm in diameter and has a height of 4.7 cm.
