Imperio Rossi Murano - Exclusive table bowl (48 cm/18, 9 inch) Unique piece 1/1

About the Item

Centrepiece bowl made of Murano blown glass with various decorations in Murrina Millefiori, white filigree and 24 kt gold leaf base. Unique piece 1/1. A rich work of great value. The artwork was handmade by the famous master glass-maker Imperio Rossi from Murano. Glass master Imperio Rossi was born in Murano to a father who works as a glassblower. At the age of 13, Imperio Rossi starts making glass at the glass furnace and in 1986 he decides to set up his own glassworks. Where he first mainly makes vases and plates as well as promotional gifts, he eventually decides to specialize in one ancient technique, that of the Millefiori. Here first rolls are made with layers of different colors of glass and when you cut off a piece of the roll - the murrine - you have a piece of glass with different colors in a pattern. Different pieces of this glass are combined and finally formed into the end result. Millefiori is one of the most difficult techniques in glassblowing, there are many different stages that have to be completed in which the glassware has to be put in the oven for the right time to be processed. Imperio Rossi masters this technique so well that he has become world famous with it, he makes beautiful colorful Murano vases, among other things. Engraved signature on the bottom: “I. Rossi Murano”. Original label with mark Vetro Artistico® Murano. Supplied with warranty certificate and brochure with a short story of the master glass-maker. New condition. Certificate of authenticity
