Pair of Sterling Silver Swan Decorative Bowls Signed Gorham Sterling
About the Item
This beautiful pair of Art Deco Sterling silver swan decorative bowls were executed by the legendary American silver maker, Gorham circa 1920. They feature elegantly streamlined demilune form bottoms and undulating tops. The stylized and sinuous necks of the birds cantilever forward, while the interiors of the pieces are left hollow. The feathers and faces of the swans have been meticulously crafted revealing every downy detail, and testifying to the fact that no detail was overlooked in their fabrication. While these are perfectly utilitarian vessels- ideal for presenting whatever your heart desires- they are also objet d'art that promise to beautify any surface that they grace. They are signed "Gorham Sterling Made for WW Wattles and Sons" and are in excellent vintage condition.
