Paul W. Eshelman Turned Bowl

About the Item

Large teak lathe turned bowl by studio Craft legend Paul Eshelman. Eshelman was part of the first generation studio woodworkers who sought to find artistic expression in simple, utilitarian objects. He was considered a master of form and graceful execution. Along with Wharton Esherick, James Prestini, and Bob Stocksdale, Eshelman represented the United States for wood crafts at the 1958 Brussels Worlds Fair. In 1964 he was included in the ground-breaking "The American Craftsmen" show at the American Craft Museum. His work is held in numerous museum and private collections.
