About the Item
A very attractive post-modern rhombus shaped ceramic bowl by Ann Mallory for Americaware, circa 1990s. Designed by art potter Ann Mallory, this beautiful bowl features a large, gestural pattern hand-painted in the style of Japanese calligraphy. Americaware started as a ceramics importer in the 1980s and moved into the luxury market with designer pieces like this Ann Mallory pattern, destined for high end department stores and boutiques. Like her other designs these bowls are handpainted and they reflect the influence of her time studying in Japan. They are perfect as either display or serving pieces. The bowl is in very good vintage condition with no chips or cracks and measures 10"W x 10"D x 2"H.
