Scandinavian Modern Wildflowers Series Bowl - Lars Thoren Rorstrand Sweden 1940s

About the Item

In the 1940s, Lars Thoren (1918-2006) created a collection of white stoneware pieces for Rorstrand named “Vilda Blommor” or “Wildflowers”. The pieces had hand-painted decor of colorful flowers that grew in the meadows of Sweden like heather, bluebells, a type of Daisy/Dandellion known as crepis and also some wild berries (lingonberries). The production proved to be very popular because of its smooth satin glaze and its pleasing decoration.
