Late 19th Century Bronze Dish Regency Style by Gustav Grohe

About the Item

Beautiful bronze dish or vide poche by Gustav Grohe. The bowl has a nature scene with a fox and a duck. The bronze is very refined with nice details and a beautiful red patina. Gustav Grohe (Berlin 1829-1906) was a German engraver, chiseler and sculptor. He had a bronzeware factory in Berlin. He took part in exhibitions of the Verein Berliner Künstler in 1869, among other things. He made plaques for Emperor Franz Joseph I of Austria. He also made sugar boxes, cups, (fruit) bowls and vases.
