19th Century Lacquered Papier-mâché Snuff Box with Parrot and Lady

Early 19th century hand painted black lacquered Papier-Mâché snuff box or vanity box
Crafted in Austria in the early 1800's, the decorative box features a hand painted scene of a young beauty holding a parrot in the romantic Rococo manner of Stobwasser, Boucher or Fragonard. The box also features a birdcage, brass hardware and is further embellished with colorful floral decor on the front and sides.
