19th Century Tole Box
About the Item
A fabulous, undulating, c. 1820, English, hinge-top, tole letter box hand painted in faux tortoise. The interior with a mirror which hides a secret compartment. The top featuring a cameo with a painted, recumbent hound bordered by a faux rope frame.
