Art Deco Period Sterling Silver Footed Engine-Turned Table Box with Hinged Lid

About the Item

Art Deco Period, sterling silver, paw-footed, engine-turned-designed table box with with hinged lid, Birmingham, England, year-hallmarked for 1926, Hollings and Hutchinson - makers. Box is wood-lined. The wood is fitted on a slant to follow the form of the slanted lid. Leather underside. Vacant cartouche. Measures 4 3/4 inches wide (from foot to foot) x 3 1/2 inches deep (from foot to foot) x a little under 3 inches high (at highest point). Although the lid closes tightly, there is a little of the wood lining that still shows when box is closed (see photos) and there are some minor dints (see photos) all commensurate with age and use. Dark areas on sterling silver in photos are reflections. In good antique condition.
