Chase Usa Co. 1930 Art Deco Geometric Steel Box with Bakelite and Wood

Geometric Art Deco box designed by Chase Usa Co. Beautiful Streamline geometric box, created during the Art Deco period by the Chase USA Co., back in the 1930. This trinket box has been designed with three compartments in the interior lined up in fine cedar wood and a lid in solid polished gunmetal steel. The lid is decorated with incised circles and elements made up in black and red bakelite. It is mount in four footed swivel spheres. Carefully crafted with streamline patterns and solid construction. This surely is a very decorative piece and a great conversation item in gorgeous and exceptional preserved in almost mint condition. This highly decorative box is suitable for cigarettes, cufflinks, jewelry, any piece of memorabilia or just for decoration. Weight: 581.95 Grams, (10.87 Dwt). Measurements: 181 mm by 80 mm by 65 mm (7.12 x 3.14 x 2.56 Inches). Hallmarks: Stamped with the maker's mark of the Centaur Archer and signed, "CHASE USA". Condition: The overall condition of this box is excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to any parts. This roller-lid box is very innovative in design and with Avant Garde look. It was crafted in chromed steel with red lacquer and elements in red and black Bakelite. It is fitted with a roller lid, which is in perfect working condition. The Park Sherman Company Park Sherman was an important Springfield company for several decades ending with the sale of the company to a New Jersey firm in 1960. They mass-produced smoking accessories, particularly lighters, as well as a multitude of office, novelty, and other items. The Park Sherman Company operated in Springfield, Illinois until 1960 when it was sold to a New Jersey company. A man named Jacob S. Sherman was the founder of the Park Sherman Company. The company sold miner's supplies (miner's cap lamps, match cases, etc.) and later specialized in things like coin banks and smoking accessories such lighters and cigarette cases. The company's products were sold throughout the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s. 'Everdry' was a brand name that Park Sherman used on some of its products. The word "Everdry" was used, for example, on match cases to indicate that the case would prevent the matches from getting wet.     An art deco desk box designed by Poole Silver Co. American, Founded in 1893. Very elegant rectangular box, created in America during the art deco period back in the 1930-1940. This elegant desk box was crafted by the Poole Silver Co. with sharp lines in solid sterling silver with high polished finish. Mount in four elaborated geometric sabots and fitted in the interior with linings of natural cedar wood and a secure lid with nine barrels hinge. Weight: 373.55 Grams, (239.46 Dwt). They was in the beginning manufacturer of plated silverware and manufacturer of silver products made with electroplating techniques. In 1900 it operated in a small two-room factory at 106 Whittington Street, and later moved to 320 Whittington Street.
