English Regency Mahogany Travelling Lap Desk with Secret Compartment, on Stand
About the Item
This early 19th century lap desk is constructed of flame grain Honduras mahogany and features the original brass fittings and an embossed leather interior with a removable pen tray. Other highlights include a brass plate at center top, a leather portfolio and an interior secret compartment containing two drawers. The mahogany stand has been added later to accommodate the box.
The box itself measures 9.50 inches x 6 inches x 13.75 wide. The stand measures 20 inches tall x 15 inches wide x 10.50 inches deep.
