French 19th Century Ormolu Mounted and Footed Cream Opaline Crystal Box

About the Item

A French 19th century Louis XVI Style Ormolu Mounted and Footed Prismic Pattern Cream Opaline Crystal Box. The box is composed of two sections of French prismic pattern cream opaline crystal which are mounted to a fabulous dore bronze latch and dore bronze lions paws. The doe bronze is beautifully hand-chassed and hand-chiseled with a wonderful elaborate design. Cream opaline crystal with a hand-diamond cut crystal lattice pattern, such as this one, are rare to find in this condition ad quality. The elaborate crystal lattice pattern is truly spectacular with perfect handcut lattice motifs which encompass the entirety of the crystal surface. The crystal is further mounted on a dore bronze hinge as well as on lions paw feet. France, circa: 19th century.
