Guido Gambone Studio Ceramic Box, Italy, 1950s

About the Item

Exquisite ceramic tabletop box by prominent Italian ceramicist Guido Gambone (1909-1969). One of the most influential ceramicists of the twentieth century, this remarkable Gambone piece depicts a cubist figure in black with purple tones on an almost oatmeal colored backdrop. Sides of box and lid are an earthy pale yellow tone. Measures 8.5” by 4.25” with a height of 3.25”. Signed Guido Gambone Italy with donkey marking with some irregularity to signature that has occurred during firing. Perfect condition.
