Jewelry Box Covered with Blue Moroccan Leather Napoleon 3 Period
About the Item
Very pretty wooden box covered with blue green leather decorated bookbinders, enhanced with gold leaf. On the lid of the box is represented a wise man in meditation holding a pilgrim's staff, surmounted by a cartouche or writing in Sanskrit. In the two upper corners of the box are depicted dressed monkeys playing a musical instrument. The whole is inscribed in an architectural decoration with columns and decorated with foliage.
The interior of the box is covered with a beautiful blue silk fabric.
The box has its original key (the lock does not work)
