Rococo silver trinket box Lovers in park Late 18th century 800 Hallmark

About the Item

Octagonal trinket, patch, "snuff" box, with roses on the sides and a couple lovers on lid. Very fine work by stamping (embossing) on the outside or inside, followed by hand chasing and engraved, mercury gold plated from inside the box. Antique silver box with imported 800 hallmark, ready to become a pearl in your collection. Size app.: 6.2 cm (roughly 2.4 in) width, 2 cm (roughly 0.8 in) height, 5.1 cm (roughly 2 in) depth. Good condition, age wear. Please study high-res pictures for cosmetic condition! In person actual item may appear darker or brighter than in our pictures, strictly depending on sufficient light in your environment. Weight is 66 gr it is going to measure some 0.25 kg of volume packed for shipment. For a long time, small objects of applied art have become objects of a collecting passion that has no geographical or temporal boundaries - elegant boxes for various purposes, the most massive of which were snuff boxes. Interest in them, however, is quite understandable: their collections reflected historical events and artistic styles, the social status of the owners, social preferences, fashion trends and technical progress.
