About the Item
A rare mid-19th century miniature shagreen & silver tea caddy, date Circa 1840,
Origin France.
This Caddy is in original condition, the Shagreen does have blemishes but the overall appearance and condition is surface. The interior shows remnants of a lead lining, the overlaid silver decoration and carrying poles are in good condition also a lighter shade of Shagreen has been used on the inner windows.
A wonderful piece which would make a lovely gift.
