Antique Danish Sterling Silver Two Light Candelabra by Georg Jensen

A magnificent, fine and impressive, rare pair of antique Danish sterling silver two light Pomegranate pattern candelabra made by Georg Jensen; an addition to our ornamental silverware collection These magnificent and rare antique Danish cast sterling silver candelabra have a circular bulbous form, in the Pomegranate pattern. The surface of each exceptional example of antique silverware has a subtly planished finish. Each impressive two light candelabrum retains the original hallmarked scrolling arms, supporting two rounded organic-shaped baluster capitals with plain circular dished drip pans. The scrolling arms of each candelabra incorporate magnificent scrolling leaf and bead decoration, all in the Arts and Crafts style. The plain bulbous columns surmount a plain circular foot, accented with a petal decorated border to the junction. The bases of these magnificent cast candelabra are not weighted. The hallmarks struck to the underside and one of arm of each include: Maker's mark: Georg Jensen (these marks were used between 1925-1932) Designer's mark: GI (Georg Jensen) Silver quality/purity mark: Sterling, 925, S (925/1000) Country mark: Denmark Importer's mark: GS (Stockwell & Co (George Stockwell)) Import hallmark: London Import date mark: q (1931) Such examples struck with full London import hallmarks are rare to the market. Condition These antique Georg Jensen silver candelabra are a magnificent gauge of silver, magnificent quality and in magnificent presentation condition. The cast ornamentation is all very sharp Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the base and full London import hallmarks to the one labra of each piece, in addition to part import hallmarks to the underside of the drip pans are all very clear. Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of these Georg Jensen silver candelabra.     An exceptional, fine and impressive pair of vintage Elizabeth II English sterling silver three light candelabra; an addition to our ornamental silverware collection. These fine vintage Elizabeth II sterling silver candelabra have a panelled hexagonal form, in the classic early 18th English style. Each impressive candelabrum retains the original hallmarked detachable push fit scrolling arms, which support circular baluster shaped capitals surmounting plain hallmarked dished drip pans. Each candelabrum is fitted with three labra conjoined to with a central baluster shaped finial. These versatile vintage candelabra can be used with three lights or as candlesticks once the arms (labra) are detached. The panelled waisted column of each candlestick is embellished with a rounded knop to the lower portion. The hexagonal swept foot incorporates a subtle plain circular sunken well. Each candelabrum does not have a weighted base. These exceptional candelabra were crafted by the renowned London silversmith Richard Comyns of William Comyns & Sons Ltd. Condition These vintage sterling silver candlesticks are an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. The components have been professionally polished and are in presentation condition. Full hallmarks struck to the surface of each base and part hallmarks to the sleeve of each labra are all very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the exceptional gauge of silver.     A fine pair of vintage Elizabeth II English sterling silver two-light candelabra in the George I style; an addition to our ornamental silverware collection. These fine vintage Elizabeth II sterling silver candelabra have a plain circular form, in the George I style. Each impressive two-light candelabrum retains the original hallmarked detachable push fit scrolling arms, which support two rounded waisted capitals with plain circular dished drip pans. These versatile vintage candelabra can be used as candlesticks once the arms (labra) are detached. The knopped stems are surmounted on sunken wells, to tooled decorated circular spreading bases. The filled bases retain the original leatherette covering to the underside. The base of each was made by Richard Comyns of William Comyns & Sons Ltd and the labra were crafted by William Bruford & Son; these items will have been crafted in the same year but due to the hallmarking system the bases are struck with the date letter 'd' and the labra bear 'e'.     An exceptional, fine and impressive pair of versatile antique Victorian English sterling silver three-light candelabra; an addition to our ornamental silverware collection These exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver candelabra have a classical square form to a knopped column onto a stepped swept square foot, in the classic English 18th century style. Each impressive three light candelabrum retains the original hallmarked detachable push fit scrolling arms embellished with reed decoration. The branches (labra) support two cylindrical capitals, each encompassed with bands of applied gadroon decoration. The capitals are fitted with the original hallmarked push fit square sconces, embellished with further gadroon decorated borders to the rims. Each capital of these Victorian candelabra centrepieces surmounts an impressive square drip pan, featuring identical ornamentation to that of the sconces. Each silver candelabrum is fitted with a third detachable central elevated capital. These versatile Victorian candelabra can be used as candlesticks once the arms are detached, alternatively, the labra may be conjoined to form a five-light candelabrum. The panelled waisted column of each candlestick is encompassed with gadroon decoration to the knops. The plain square swept foot incorporates a plain sunken well, and is embellished with gadroon decoration to a plain collet style rim.
