A Fine Pair Of Bronze And Partly Iron Five-Light Candelabras

About the Item

This impressive pair of five-light candelabra stems from the late nineteenth century. The ornate design, possibly French, exhibits a great deal of detailed craftsmanship. The five arms are adorned with foliage, displaying both ornamental acanthus leaves on the outer curve, and a flower blooming from two leaves on the inner curve. The branches each hold a cylindrical socket for the candles to be placed in. The intricate details on the girandole inserts connect to the elaborately decorated shaft, held up by a rounded base laid with petals. The heavyset bronze centerpieces are reminiscent of the neo-baroque period, and come to an impressive height of 92 cm. The pair is in pristine condition.
