Pair of Chinese Porcelain and French Chinoiserie Style Gilt Bronze Candelabra

About the Item

Pair of Chinese porcelain and French Chinoiserie style gilt bronze candelabra Chinese and French, 19th Century Height 72cm, width 47cm, depth 35cm This superb pair of candelabra brings together the best of Chinese and French decorative art. Each candelabrum features a Chinese porcelain body painted in blue with traditional style flowers and foliage. This porcelain body is set on a pierced gilt bronze base and is mounted above with a gilt bronze structure wrought in the French Chinoiserie style. Each candelabrum supports five candle branches, each branch geometrically scrolled and applied with Chinese style motifs, such as dragon-form handles. The quality of the French gilt bronze is magnificent, cast as it is with intricate detailing; it is even more impressive when paired with the fine Chinese porcelain bodies.
