Stunning Pair of French Louis XVI Style Gilt Bronze & Marble Candle Candelabras
About the Item
Top quality made and large pair of antique 6 candle candelabras with putto sculptures.
In mid 19th century Europe, the most beautiful candelabras and chandeliers were created and manufactured by the famous designers and makers in France. This amazing pair each comes with a stunning putto (or amoretto) and their patina is simply divine. The entire design and the perfect combination of materials is what makes this pair highly attractive. This superb condition pair has the details and breathes the quality that can also be found in sculptures by some of the top Parisian makers, but we have not found any maker's marks. We cannot imagine that there will ever be a time in which artisans will again be capable and willing to spend the time and money that it takes to create pieces that are as well made, artistic, meaningful and truly beautiful (and thus desirable) as these antique candelabras. They will look amazing on a side table or mantelpiece and with the candles burning in the evenings these museum-quality works of art create an atmosphere that will lift your spirit in a way that modern day pieces never could.
