19th Century Lacquered Wood Palm Holder with Original Metal Floral Composition

A Sicilian wooden palm holder with an original painted iron floral composition, handcrafted in Italy in the late 19th century, features green and brown lacquered wood. The palm holder is in its original condition with signs of use and age. It was used to adorn houses and small private chapels inside wealthy homes in the south of Italy. This palm holder is a splendid testimony to the period, religiosity, and traditions of southern Italy.
