Bertil Vallien 1970 Danks Design Vintage Swirls Candlesticks in Silver

About the Item

Pair of swirl candlestick designed by Bertil Vallien (1938-). Beautiful pair of sculptural swirls candlesticks, created in Sweden by Bertil Vallien, back in the 1970's. These pair has been crafted by the Danks design company in solid electroplated silver with high polished finish. Each one is fitted with 12 holes for small thin candles. Weight: 4.2 Pounds (1906 Grams),(1221.8 Dwt). Measurements: 127 mm by 121 mm by 121 mm (5 x 4.75 x 4.75 Inches). Hallmarks: Stamped with the maker's mark and signed, "DANKS DESIGN JAPAN BV EP ZINC". Bertil Vallien is by far the most internationally celebrated glass artist and designer in Sweden. He has received numerous awards and his work is well represented in leading museums around the world. He works in a mythical, dream-like world of symbolic imagery. He undertakes what he himself describes as a never-ending research quest, in close cooperation with his co-workers at Kosta glassworks, several of whom have worked with Vallien for decades. Bertil Vallien is known most of all as the master of sand moulding. His solid, deep-blue, four-meter-long ship has become part of modern glass history. His creations include Château, one of the best-selling ranges of handmade glasses over the years. Condition: The overall condition of this pair is excellent.     Pair of three-arms candelabras designed by Tiffany & Co. Beautiful antique pair of candleholders created with Art Nouveau patterns at the Tiffany Studios in New York city, circa 1903. They was crafted under the directory presidency of Charles T. Cook (1902-1907) during the Edwardian era (1901-1911) in solid sterling silver .925/.999 with a fluted repousse trumpet plain patterns. They are convertible and can be dismounted to be used as a single or with three candles. This extremely rare pieces are from a very small edition of only 20 pieces and was carefully crafted with beautiful and elegant Art Nouveau patterns in solid sterling silver .925/.999 with very high polished finish. As with all Tiffany pieces, the quality and design are beyond compare. Exceptional and rare example of Tiffany's finest work.
