Pair of French 19th Century Louis XV St. Belle Époque Period Ormolu Candlesticks
About the Item
A beautiful and very high quality pair of French 19th century Louis XV st. Belle Époque Period ormolu candlesticks. Each candlestick is raised by a fine scalloped base with a delicate wrap around mottled border and three exceptional richly chased scrolled seashell reserves, lovely spiral fluted designs, and wonderful fish scale like patterns. The central support displays two charming exquisitely detailed children playing amidst beautiful scrolled foliate designs, three fleur de lys, an etched reserve, and a most decorative spiral design leading up to the candle cup all in a superb satin and burnished finish.
