About the Item
A pair of Art Nouveau / Arts & Crafts styled israeli candlesticks in cast ornamented and partially perforated brass. Set with polished oval pieces of Eliat. The Eilat stone is the name for a green inhomogeneous mixture of several secondary copper minerals including malachite, azurite, turquoise, pseudomalachite, chrysocolla and others. The Eilat stone is the National stone of Israel, and is also known as the King Solomon Stone. Both candleholders is marked: Made in The Holyland, Tamar, T. ???. Manufactured in Israel circa 1970-80. Measurements: Height: 28 cm, Diameter: 9 cm (base).
