19th C. Swedish Straight Body Floor Clock with Beautiful, Original Gilded Face

About the Item

A Swedish 19th century long case clock. This Swedish straight body clock features a bonnet crest and a pewter ring face over a gilded background. This clock retains it's original metal face, hands and movement. Intricate ornaments adorn the corners and the upper section of the face, around a medallion. The rest of the clock is very linear with simple, clean lines. The door on the belly opens from left to right with the glass opening in its center. The color of this clock is an overall light blue/ grey with a pale orange undertone and hints of green, along with a slight green grey on the trim. This clock would be wonderful as a decorative object and is not currently in working condition, but can be quartzed to keep perfect time, for an additional cost. A quartz battery would then be added behind the face. The original hands are too heavy to carry the quartz movement, so they would be changed to black hands, similar in style. The clock would then chime (the chime can be turned off even though the sound is quite delightful. A pendulum selected to work with the quartz movement would be added behind the glass opening.
