Antique Gray Painted Danish Grandfather Clock, 19th Century, Denmark

About the Item

This stately Grandfather clock is from the first quarter of the 19th century. It is made in the traditional Scandinavian style of clock making and has charming and whimsical details on the face of the clock as well as filigreed wooden side access panels. The Danish clocks have an elegance that seems to be lacking in the Swedish clocks of that same era. This Danish clock stands slender and grand and with a flourish of ornamentation at the base.
