About the Item

Impressive mahogany longcase clock with gilt and sculpted decorative bronze elements such as fantastic animals, diamond-shaped patterns, scrollwork, and foliage. This floor clock is composed of two parts: the upper part which contains the white enameled dial and a niche that displays the ormolu mask pendulum. Two caryatids topped by laurel crowns are on the sides of the dial. The lower part of the piece features two front legs that are carved in the shape of fantastic animals.
