19th Century Figural Mantle Clock
About the Item
19th century figural mantle clock in the Rocaille manner, the boulle work case of waisted design decorated with finely cast ormolu mounts to the front and sides depicting a putto bearing flowers with C and S scrolls, foliate and acanthus leaf, beading, guilloche and egg and dart motif, the circular enamelled dial with decimal and Roman chapters and gilt bronze detail surmounted by figural sculpture of a striding cupid playing the Roman tuba bearing a feather, the entire supported on outscrolling gilt ormolu foot.
