19th Century Large C. Vernet Mantel Clock in Gilt Bronze
About the Item
We present you this exquisite and rare 19th-century C. Vernet mantel clock, embodying a neoclassical design. Crafted with great precision and adorned with fine gilded bronze, the clock's mechanism is enclosed within a substantial drum, embellished with striking lion mask-shaped handles and a prominent urn atop. It stands upon an intricately detailed base, featuring acanthus scroll supports and robust fluted corner columns. A laurel wreath can be seen gracefully dangling below the clock's face. The original gilding remains pristine and shiny, displaying just slight indications of wear and fading.
