Barbedienne French Mantel Clock, circa 1890

About the Item

A fine quality Louis XVI style French gilded ormolu mantel clock, signed Barbedienne. Having shield and foliate decoration to the top, white enamel roman numerals, a lyre shaped pendulum, four glass sides, Rams head mounts and an ormolu plaque it the base depicting cherubs playing. An eight day duration movement that chimes on the hour and half hour.
