To us, this French antique clock epitomizes everything the Art Deco period stood for. Firstly, it ofcourse is no coincidence that the artist chose grape leafs and a grape bunch in this work of DECOrative ART. With the grape symbolizing wealth, abundance, prosperity and fertility, one can imagine how those qualities fit in perfectly with both the Art Deco era and the design of this 'wealthy clock'. All hand-crafted with some of the most expensive materials and techniques that money could buy in the 1920s this amazing clock really portrays what French artisans were capable of creating in those days. Looking at this antique tells you that time and money really seemed not to be an object in those days. Using the most beautiful marble and decorating it with perfectly gilt brass and bronze Art Deco elements and inlaid with stunning green onyx, it really makes this a statement piece. Have you also noticed the perfectly white enameled and hand-painted dial face and original dials? They too are of museum quality and condition and so too is the circular bronze door with the beveled glass panel. The stylish pair of marble and gilt bronze coupes could not have been chosen better either and they make this Art Deco clock set even more voguish and grand.
