French 18th Century Louis XVI Period Ormolu and Silvered Bronze Clock

About the Item

A stunning French 18th century Louis XVI period ormolu and silvered bronze clock, signed Pfeñinger, Zurich. The clock is centered by a striking foliate berried bottom finial below the impressive and most decorative recessed silvered bronze panel flanked by richly chased swaging berried laurel garlands. The white enamel displays beautiful minute numbers, fine Roman numeral hour numbers and elegant pierced ormolu hands. At each side are lovely reeded patterns and intricately detailed acanthus leaves.
