Antique English Novelty Inkwell, Sledgehammer to Crack a Nut, circa 1890
About the Item
Clearly created after the well known idiom "use a sledgehammer to crack a nut"; this is an unusual and fun figural inkwell.
The walnut is the inkwell with a hinged lid which opens to reveal the original little removable glass liner.
The underside retains the original leather covering. Victorian in era and in excellent condition measuring 4" in diameter x 4 1/2" tall.
