About the Item

LOVE Snow Globe globe dims: 4.5 h x 4" w x 4" l gift box dims: 5.25 " h. x 5.25" w. x 5.25" l packaged in custom gift box ©Morgan Art Foundation Licensed by Artestar, New York Robert Indiana (American, 1928-2018) was one of the major figures in American art in the second half of the 20th Century. He played a central role in the development of assemblage art, hard-edge painting, and Pop art. His work explores American identity, personal history, and the power of abstraction and language. Equally a painter, print maker, sculptor, and poet it has been hard to categorize Indiana’s work and fit him into a particular style. Robert Indiana’s LOVE that uses the unmistakable slanted ‘O’ within a square format first, appeared in 1964 in a series of frottage drawings in graphite and colored pencil. Indiana further developed his concept through a series of paintings, sculpture and prints. Love was a subject of great spiritual significance for the artist. The image’s popularity emphasizes its great resonance with large and diverse audiences, and has become an icon of modern art. This snow globe features one of Indiana's more popular color ways, red outside and violet inside, which is featured at several art institutions internationally. This Snow Globe comes safely and beautifully packaged in a custom LOVE box, perfect for gifting. Care and cleaning: Keep your globe out of direct sunlight. Sunlight shining through the water acts as a magnifier and can cause a fire. Sunlight can also cause the water to discolor. Dust with a soft cloth. Glass cleaner is fine on the globe. The liquid in the globes is purified water with glycol added to prevent freezing. Anti-bacterial is also added to keep the liquid clear. While the liquid in the globe is safe for humans externally, it should not be ingested. CoolSnowGlobes are made of glass and are not toys for children.
