18th century or earlier Carved wooden Buddha Statue of Nezha; . A wonderfully carved interpretation of the manifestation of the Chinese Buddha Nezha, displaying his three heads and six arms. This statue represents the joining of Buddhist and Taoist believes and Mythology. Nezha is a protection deity of Chinese Mythology. His official name is Master of the Central Altar. This is a rare carving interpretation. Nezha has many stories and appears throughout Chinese Mythology.
